Hello! I'm Tina.
Now it's March! Winter is over, and spring is here. The weather is getting warmer. You can see forsythia and cherry blossoms on the streets. People go for walks in the park. Students go to school. The new semester begins.
But sometimes, the weather gets cold. Suddenly, the temperature drops. This is called "Kkotsaemchuwi" (๊ฝ์์ถ์). It feels like winter is jealous of spring. So, people wear warm clothes.
In March, there is a lot of fine dust. The air is not good. Your throat may hurt. So, people wear masks and use air purifiers.
March 1st is Samiljeol (Independence Movement Day). In 1919, Korean people fought for independence. So, this day is a national holiday. Schools and companies are closed. People hang the Korean flag.
At the beginning of March, students go to school. They meet friends. The new semester starts. University students join clubs.
There are many special days in March. Around March 5th or 6th, it's Gyeongchip. Frogs wake up from hibernation. Spring is coming closer.
March 14th is White Day. On Valentine's Day, women give chocolates. On White Day, men give candy or small gifts. Friends also exchange presents.
Around March 20th or 21st, it's Chunbun (Spring Equinox). Day and night are the same length. After this day, the daylight hours get longer.
At the end of March, baseball season begins! Baseball is very popular in Korea. People enjoy watching baseball games.
March is a time for new beginnings. Students start studying. Workers make new plans. Spring is here, and it feels good!
Everyone, enjoy your March!
Thank you!
