Hello! My name is Tina.
Nice to meet you! Tina is my nickname. My close friends call me Tina, but my
real name is different.
I am Korean. My hometown is Seoul. Seoul is the capital of Korea. It’s a very
big city. Have you ever been to Seoul? There are lots of delicious foods and
fun places in Seoul.
My family has three members: my husband, my
lovely daughter, and me. My daughter is two years old. These days, her favorite
thing is Pororo. Pororo is a penguin character. It’s very popular in
Korea, and kids really love Pororo.
My hobby is reading. I enjoy reading
books by myself while drinking coffee. My favorite books are Korean novels.
However, since my daughter is still young, I spend most of my day reading
picture books with her. Reading with her is also a lot of fun.
My dream is to become a great Korean
teacher. I want to teach Korean all over the world. That’s why I created a
YouTube channel. My channel’s name is “Tina’s Hangeul Talk.” On
this channel, you can learn Korean and explore Korean culture. We’ll talk about
Korean food, travel, and fun stories together.
If you want to learn Korean and experience
more about Korea, please visit my channel.
Let’s learn Korean together and have fun!
I’m so excited to teach you Korean.
Lastly, let me teach you today’s
expression.
It’s “-μ΄μμ/-μμ.”
"-μ΄μμ/-μμ" is used in Korean to say what
someone or something is, such as a person, an object, or a place.
These two expressions change depending on whether the word ends with a
consonant or not:
- If the word ends with a consonant, use “-μ΄μμ.”
For example: - Seoul (μμΈ) ends with a consonant (γΉ), so you say: “μμΈμ΄μμ.”
- If the word doesn’t end with a consonant, use “-μμ.”
For example: - Tina (ν°λ) doesn’t have a final
consonant, so you say: “ν°λμμ.”
Here’s one important note: Even if the word doesn’t end with a consonant, when using “μλλ€” (to not be), you still say “μλμμ.”
For example:
- "This is not my name." → “μ΄κ±΄ μ μ΄λ¦μ΄ μλμμ.”
- "This is not Seoul." → “μ¬κΈ°λ μμΈμ΄ μλμμ.”
Try using today’s expressions to create
your own self-introduction!
See you next time! Thank you!
