지난주 부천의 한 재래시장에서 안타까운 사고가 있었어요. 시장의 통로를 따라 사람들이 한창 이동하고 있던 중, 한 트럭이 갑자기 시장 안으로 돌진하면서 큰 혼란이 생겼습니다.

Last week, a very unfortunate accident happened at a traditional market in Bucheon. People were walking through the main passage of the market as usual, when a truck suddenly crashed into the area, causing panic and confusion.

이 사고로 2명이 사망하고 18명이 부상을 입었어요. 현장에는 경찰과 소방대원이 즉시 도착해 부상자들을 옮기고 주변을 통제하는 등 긴급 조치가 빠르게 이루어졌습니다.

Sadly, two people lost their lives and eighteen were injured. Police officers and rescue teams arrived right away and carried out emergency response measures—helping the injured people and securing the scene to prevent further danger.

부상자들은 근처 병원으로 옮겨져 치료를 받았고, 경찰은 운전자가 왜 이런 사고를 냈는지 원인을 조사하고 있어요.

The injured were taken to nearby hospitals, and the police are currently investigating what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.

최근 새벽배송 노동자들의 평균 노동시간이 크게 늘고, 야간노동 및 반복 배송 등으로 노동강도가 매우 높아졌어요. 특히 수면 부족, 우울증, 기타 정신건강 문제까지 심각한 수준으로 나타나며, 전문가는 이 상황을 바탕으로 수면시간 확보를 위한 사회적 대책이 반드시 필요하다고 강조하고 있어요.

Recently, workers in the dawn delivery (새벽배송) sector in Korea have been facing a serious health crisis. With very long average working hours, high labor intensity, and repeated shifts, the risk has grown alarming. In particular, lack of sleep, depression, and other mental health conditions are appearing at concerning levels. Experts emphasize that securing sufficient rest and sleep should be part of a broader social policy response.

예를 들어 일부 조사 결과에 따르면 야간 중심 배송기사들은 주 60시간 이상, 심할 경우 주 70시간 이상 노동하고 있으며, 이는 산업재해 기준을 넘어선 과로의 위험이 있다는 지적이 나왔어요. 또한 국제보건기구(WHO) 등도 야간노동이 우울증・심혈관계 질환・암 등의 위험요인으로 작용한다고 경고하고 있어요.

For example, surveys show that some night-shift delivery drivers work 60 hours or more per week, and in extreme cases over 70 hours, clearly exceeding occupational hazard thresholds. Organizations like the WHO also warn that night work greatly increases risks of depression, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
