🏘️ 붕세권이 뭐예요? | What’s “Bung-se-gwon”?

요즘은 붕어빵 가게를 찾기 힘들어졌어요. 그래서 생긴 새로운 단어가 있어요. 바로 “붕세권”이에요!

These days, Bungeoppang stands are harder to find, so Koreans started using the slang word “Bung-se-gwon”.

“붕세권” = 붕어빵 + 역세권

It’s a combination of:

• “붕어빵” (Bungeoppang) – a fish-shaped bread filled with sweet red bean (or other fillings), a popular winter snack in Korea

• “역세권” (Yeok-se-gwon) – a term meaning “area near a subway station,” often used in real estate

“붕세권”은 집이나 회사 근처에 붕어빵 가게가 있는 지역을 말해요.

그만큼 요즘 붕어빵 가게는 귀한 존재가 되었답니다.

So, “붕세권” means: 👉 “A neighborhood where you can easily buy bungeoppang!” In other words, you live close to a place that sells hot, fresh bungeoppang. 😋

Since Bungeoppang stalls are becoming harder to find these days, being in a “붕세권” is a lucky thing during winter!
