오늘은 ‘아니에요.’를 배워요.

Today we will learn “아니에요.”

📌 "아니에요" 완벽 이해하기

“아니에요”는 “아니다”라는 동사의 활용형으로, 어떤 사실을 부정할 때 사용해요.

"아니에요" is the conjugated form of the verb "아니다", used when you want to negate a fact.

 👉 사전 (Dictionary): 아니다 (to say something is NOT true) ↔ 이다

👉 말할 때 (When speaking): 아니에요 ↔ -이에요/예요

 📖 예를 들어(for example),

• 학생이에요. → “I am a student.”
• 학생이 아니에요. → “I am not a student.”

우리 가족은 아빠, 엄마, 오빠, 그리고 저 이렇게 네 명이에요. There are four people in my family: my dad, my mom, my older brother, and me.

우리 아빠는 한국 사람이에요. My dad is Korean.

엄마는 한국 사람이 아니에요. My mom is not Korean.

우리 엄마는 미국 사람이에요. My mom is American.

우리 오빠는 회사원이에요. My brother is an office worker.

저는 회사원이 아니에요. I am not an office worker.

학생이에요. I am a student.

오늘의 표현을 배워요. Today’s expression is:

👉 “-이/가 아니에요.”

📘 “N + -이/가 아니에요”

→ Used to say something is not true.

• 🔹 받침이 있는 명사 (Ends with a final consonant) → “–이 아니에요”
  Ex) 학생 → 학생이 아니에요
• 🔹 받침이 없는 명사 (Ends with a vowel) → “–가 아니에요”

🟣 문화 팁 (Culture Tip)

👉 한국 사람들은 “아니에요”를 자주 써요.

예를 들어, 누군가 “고마워요!”라고 하면,

한국 사람들은 종종 손사래를 치면서 이렇게 말해요.

Koreans use “아니에요” very often.

For example, if someone says “Thank you!”,

Koreans often wave their hands and say:

👉 “아니에요~”

이건 고마운 마음을 부정하는 게 아니에요.

“별거 아니에요.”, “천만에요.”, “괜찮아요.” 이런 뜻이에요.

This doesn’t mean they are denying your gratitude.

It means: “It’s nothing,” “Don’t mention it,” or “You’re welcome.”

또 누군가 칭찬할 때도 그래요.

“와, 영어 잘하시네요!” 하면,

Also, when someone gives a compliment, Koreans often answer with “아니에요.”

For example:

“Wow, your Korean is really good!”

👉 “아니에요, 아직 멀었어요~” 라고 대답해요. (No, not really. I still have a long way to go.)

즉, “아니에요”는 단순히 NO, not 이런게 아니라,

👉 한국 사람들의 겸손과 매너를 보여주는 표현이에요.

So, “아니에요” is not just “No.”

👉 It shows Korean politeness and modesty.
