국회에서는 지난 2월, 한 총리가 책임을 다하지 못했다며 탄핵을 요청했지만, 헌법재판소는 “법을 어긴 것이 아니다”라고 판단했어요.

한편, 아직 윤석열 대통령의 탄핵 심판 요청도 남아있는데요, 이 심판은 언제 결과가 나올지 정해지지 않았어요. 정치권에서는 이번 결정이 대통령 심판에도 영향을 줄지 주목하고 있습니다.

| Prime Minister Han Duck-soo Was Not Impeached

"Impeachment" is a process to remove a high-ranking official when they break the law or important rules."Rejected" means the court decided, “This case is not accepted.” So, Prime Minister Han can stay in his position.

On March 24, the Constitutional Court rejected the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.

The National Assembly had requested his impeachment in February, saying he did not do his job properly. But the court said he did not break any laws.

Meanwhile, another impeachment case—for President Yoon Suk-yeol—is still in progress. The result date has not been decided yet. Many people are watching to see if this week’s decision will affect the president’s case too.

| 대형 산불로 인명 피해와 큰 피해 발생

이번 주에는 경남 산청, 경북 의성 등 여러 지역에서 큰 산불이 났어요. 건조한 날씨와 강한 바람 때문에 불이 빠르게 번졌어요. 산과 마을에 많은 피해가 생겼고, 아직 불이 완전히 꺼지지 않은 곳도 있어요.

특히 안타깝게도 진화 작업을 하던 대원 4명이 숨지고, 여러 명이 다쳤어요. 정부는 경남 산청군을 특별재난지역으로 선포하고, 산불 진화를 위해 전국적으로 대응하고 있어요.

한국에서는 봄철에 산불이 자주 나기 때문에, 모두가 조심해야 해요.

| Wildfires Still Burning – With Casualties and Serious Damage 

This week, large wildfires broke out in several areas, including Sancheong (South Gyeongsang Province) and Uiseong (North Gyeongsang Province). Because of dry weather and strong wind, the fire spread quickly and caused serious damage to forests and towns.

Sadly, four firefighters lost their lives while trying to put out the fires, and several others were injured. Some areas are still burning, and the fires are not completely under control yet.

The Korean government declared Sancheong a special disaster zone and is working hard to stop the fire with help from across the country.

In Korea, spring is wildfire season, so it’s very important to stay alert and be careful.
